PROJECT #1
For our second assignment, we based our image on the works of Frank Stella, an abstract artist who based his works upon shapes and minimalism. He once referred to a picture as, "a flat surface with paint on it--nothing more." He painted with the image itself in mind, not wanting to create pictures that were based on the real world or an artist's imagination.

PROJECT #2
This piece is based on the works of Wassily Kandinsky, specifically the one that can be found here. Kandinsky is not only famous for his paintings but for his work on art theory as well. He went through several styles of abstract art in his life, ranging from multiple lines on a canvas with various degrees of shading to simple, clear cut colors. Most of his paintings do not contain humans, but rather shapes or landscapes.

Even if you don't like Justin Timerblake at all, you probably like this song. Just saying. I thought the reflection would be cool in this particular example...I was right. I think. Maybe. Possibly. Yay.

I made a Sherlock thing. Simple text layers. I just dragged the large text layer behind the smaller one and used the eraser tool to darken the text and the original image.

We made stitches, like the ones on jerseys. Normally, this would terrify me, because jerseys are for sports, and I'm horribly scared of sports.(Too much risk for getting hit in the face.) But this was digital, which makes it okay.
